Jennifer Johnson is the Vice President & Chief Risk and Operations Officer for Forte Bank and is responsible for assisting the bank in identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting on risk. Jennifer trains bank personnel about applicable laws and regulations to ensure compliance. She also oversees loan processing and bank operations, looking for efficiencies and opportunities for greater productivity.

Jennifer joined Forte Bank in 2015 after serving in a similar position at a bank in Nebraska. Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn., in 2001. She also received a Bank Operations Diploma from the American Institute of Banking in 2010, an Honors Diploma from the Nebraska/Kansas Bankers Association Bank Compliance School in 2012, and is a 2021 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Madison. She and her husband, Josh, are parents to several furry, four-legged children and enjoy hockey, karaoke, and entertaining friends.

Jennifer believes it’s important to get the full picture in every situation rather than jumping to conclusions due to incomplete information. By digging deeper and asking the right questions, she believes we truly can get to know our customers and make the best choices to help them and the bank.

Why a community bank? “Community banks are hugely important because they look beyond the numbers to see the people and the lives that are impacted by financial decisions. Community banks have the ability to make local decisions based on relationships, giving both customers and employees opportunities that wouldn’t be available at large financial institutions.”
